I’ve been a member of VAA for over 10 years.  I joined when I first moved to Houston and knew very little about the art scene here.  I needed to build up my portfolio, meet artists, and show my work.  VAA filled all those needs and more.  My involvement in VAA shows has paid off; I won both first place and an honorable mention award and I had a high dollar sale.  I’ve attended several meetings where I learned about new media, visited great artist’s studios, and even led a workshop myself.  Now I show in lots of galleries around the U.S. and here in Houston. VAA has helped me to reach my goals.
