I grew up in Rosenberg, TX. and was always interested in drawing. I took some private art lessons growing up and art classes in high school. I went on to graduate from Sam Houston State U. with a BFA degree, and a teaching certificate in art. I taught art for 32 years in Conroe ISD . I have been involved in many art shows over the years and have won many awards. In connection with teaching, I have a purchased work on display at the Teacher Retirement Building in Austin.
I have been a faux finish artist, hand painted tiles, and created many murals, commissioned paintings and decorative paintings for decorator and home builder clients.
Upon retiring I always wanted to further my education, so I enrolled in some classes at The Glassell School of Art in Houston. My main goal was to become a better artist. Through all the classes , workshops and art work I have completed over the years I now feel more informed, have an even broader base of information and experience and in my estimation have become a better artist.
I reside with my husband and maintain a studio in The Woodlands.
